About Us

I’m Shada Attraplsi, an American Board–certified internal medicine physician and integrative and functional medicine specialist.

I became a physician to truly heal people — not to tell them their suffering was “just stress” or “normal aging,” and not to hand out pills that only mask symptoms.

Over years in conventional medicine, I saw the same painful pattern: brilliant, high‑achieving women in their 30s, 40s, and 50s arriving exhausted, foggy, inflamed, and desperate for answers — yet being told their labs were “normal” and sent home with generic advice or another prescription. Their symptoms were real. The problem was that no one was looking for the root cause.

From Conventional Medicine to Root‑Cause Healing

My journey began at the University of Tripoli School of Medicine, where I earned my medical degree in 2001. After practicing dermatology and internal medicine in Libya, I moved to Chicago to complete a Master’s in Clinical Research at Rush University Medical Center, working on funded research exploring the intestinal microbiome and its link to cancer, including breast cancer. That work opened my eyes to how deeply interconnected our body systems are — and how much can be missed when we focus on organs in isolation.

During my internal medicine residency at Marshall University and my years as a board‑certified hospitalist, I cared for countless patients whose fatigue, pain, brain fog, and hormonal symptoms were repeatedly labeled as “normal” or “just stress.” Their prescriptions increased, but their suffering remained. I realized that while conventional medicine is excellent for acute and emergency care, it often isn’t designed to search for root causes in complex, chronic conditions.

The turning point came when I completed a fellowship at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona and earned multiple advanced certifications in Functional/Therapeutic Nutrition, Environmental Toxins, mind–body tools (breathwork, meditation, stress and sleep therapies), botanical and supplement therapies, integrative mental health (anxiety, depression, trauma), and women’s hormones. There, I learned how nutrition, toxins, stress, gut health, hormones, and inflammation interact — and how a personalized, root‑cause approach can identify each woman’s unique triggers and restore the body’s ability to heal, rather than simply suppressing symptoms.

How I Help Women Today

Today, I specialize in helping high‑achieving women uncover and heal the root causes of their:

    •    Fatigue and burnout

    •    Inflammation and pain

    •    Brain fog and early cognitive changes

    •    Hormonal, thyroid, and adrenal imbalances

What My Patients Achieve

Through a personalized, holistic approach, my patients often experience:

    •    Consistent, reliable energy — no more afternoon crashes

    •    Mental clarity and focus — your sharp, confident self returns

    •    Natural hormonal balance — without unnecessary medications

    •    Reduced inflammation — slowing aging and supporting long‑term disease prevention

    •    Optimal gut function — the foundation of vitality

    •    Greater resilience — a body that adapts to stress instead of collapsing under it

Educator, Leader, and Advocate

Beyond my clinical work, I serve as an Assistant Professor at California Health Sciences University, where I train future physicians to treat the whole person — not just the diagnosis.

My training in mind–body tools (breathwork, meditation, stress and sleep therapies) has also shaped the way I support other clinicians. For six consecutive years, I have served as Behavior Chair at Community Regional Medical Center, supporting physicians and colleagues facing emotional and psychological stress and teaching integrative, mind–body approaches to resilience and well‑being.

My Mission

My mission is clear: to help high‑achieving women reclaim the energy, clarity, balance, and vitality they were told they’d never get back. When women restore their health, they restore their power — and the ripple effect touches families, careers, communities, and future generations.

Your healing begins from the inside out, and I am here to guide you every step of the way.
